A fabulous place to wake up to my fifties though! Birthday breakfast in the castle private dining roomMoat walk and castle tour this morning We went to the top of the Keep. Awesome views!
I wanted to wake up in a castle on my 50th birthday! (Lucys idea!) So we are in the State room with two four poster beds! Ours dates from 17th century and there is 16th century tapestry on the walls instead of wallpaper! Something older than me! The most amazing place I’ve ever stayed! The girls first 5 course fine dining experience!Soup for the first course‘Chicken Kiev’ – chef’s nod to Ukraine The sea bass in a chowder was divine, despite the fact I’m not a fan of mussels!Duck!Chocolate heaven dessert!
Team photo but 5 lovely ladies missing from this that came later onTop barman! And his brother! Let the games commence! And so too the dancing 🤣Licence to kill or just the bar license meant we needed to leave?! The walk home was interesting! Gone are the days of bringing a traffic cone home after a drunken night out! 🤣Because we all need to come back to ours for a bottle of champagne at 1am!
Yes Chef! (Alex Bond 🙌🏻)My favourite course – artichoke, koji, truffleLobsterThis dessert was out of this world – toasted kombu, luchuensis vinegar, vanilla oil. (Basically seaweed ice cream!)
