Part Two of Birthday Eve – Appleby Castle

I wanted to wake up in a castle on my 50th birthday! (Lucys idea!) So we are in the State room with two four poster beds! Ours dates from 17th century and there is 16th century tapestry on the walls instead of wallpaper! Something older than me! The most amazing place I’ve ever stayed!

The sea bass in a chowder was divine, despite the fact I’m not a fan of mussels!
